GameTrailers.com interviews NCAA 09 Project Lead David Ross. There is some new information here about composure and dynamic attendance, but most some of the video is recycled, except the LSU vs Georgia game you can see played in the background. I'm not sure what level these guys are playing on, but the gameplay does look very wide open, especially the run game.

New Madden 06 Vid up at GameTrailers.com. Get it while it's HOT! I don't know about you, but I am liking what I see, and yes, it looks like SLIDE PROTECTION has made it to Next Gen--lovely! This video shows off some new pre-game footage and interface design--very impressive. My man Randy Moss finishes things off with a little Soulja Boy TD celebration!
This is the first time I've actually heard women cheering in the background as a part of the crowd noise...very nice!

Get caught up on the info from the last couple weeks...
Chris from NCAAStrategies and PastaPadre, fellow EA Community Leaders, and Dave Wales from PlayStation Universe, got to play an early release of NCAA 09. Their impressions are posted on their respective websites (click the hyperlinks above to go to each of their writeups). IGN posted new some NCAA 09 Hands-on impressions and video as well as some new Madden 09 gameplay, including a discusison of online features. Good NCAA 09 info was also posted at Gametap as well. Not to be left out, GameSpot posted a new batch of NCAA 09 videoes May 01 featuring the Tigers vs the Clemson Tide (below).

Roll with me as I take this one into the underground lab and slice and dice it. So many hype things pass by in less than two minutes that I think we need to sit back, slow it down, chop it up, and get a close look at what's really going on.
===ONLINE DYNASTY
Online dynasties have been a long-awaited feature. If this comes off correctly, this will be amazing. It certainly looks like online features have recieved a lot of love from EA this year. What can we tell from the first NCAA 09 trailer? In these screenshots, it appears to be footage of a 4-person online dynasty in progress. This, you can see from the number of users online (one out of four in the dynasty) and from the four separate user windows (bhaumiller2, Rocket Ross, bhaumiller3, and dar86). Maybe I can add these guys to my friend's list (hah).
A bigger question here--is four the max you can have in an online dynasty or is this just a demonstration? I know I can guarantee at least a 40 man online dynasty--imagine that! I'm sure we will get some clarity on this at some point in the near future.
Just to clarify, the online dynasty for 09 does not appear to be the same as the Madden feature that allowed you to take your franchise online and play another opponent--this is truly much more than that. We are talking joint recruiting here, multiple seasons, progression, and hopefully injuries as well, presumably (I'm just thinking and assuming out loud here).
From the shots, you can see that the online dynatsy is currently in week 1 and two files are not ready. I am assuming that this runs somewhat like Madden Spawning, in that two games have been played and two users have still not reported their scores or have not played their games yet. You can see there is an area for messages, presumably between team owners. It also looks like you can play against the CPU, presumably
during the times when you don't play directly against a human opponent.
Looks like some tomfollery going on here, as bhaumiller3 appears to have started this game twice. Perhaps he was interrupted or maybe he lost against the CPU and tried to restart the game? Or maybe, this was a disconnect against a human opponent--only time will tell.
Here you can see bhaumiller3 recruiting Jason Williams. Unfortunately, Wisconsin is not one of his top schools at the moment. This is a quick call to the recruit and it appears b3 has 75 minutes worth of recruiting allotted in week 1. At the top right, you see Recruiting Board Capacity as 3,500 or so. I assume this is the amount of recruits you have to compete for.
Of course, this is the results of the Quick Call. It appears some new information regarding the recruit has been unlocked. It also looks like the recruit has not visited any schools yet (this is week 1) but has already received a number of scholarship offers.
This appears to be the Team Stories of each of the team in the dysnasty.
It looks like 2-3 stories for each team, which is pretty hot.
===CUSTOMIZABLE SOUNDS & MUSIC
This is another great feature! From you video, you can see that you can set events to trigger sounds. The list of Events shown in the video are: PAT is Successful,
2 Point Conversion,
Touchdown, Safety, Defense on 3rd Down, Defense on 4th Down, and Kickoff. Sounds can be selected from the Playlist. Now, if you can add your own sounds to the playlist, this will be incredible, especially if you could download sounds from EA or from EA Lockers. This appears to only be available during home games, which is logical.
===FORMATION AUDIBLES HAVE RETURNED!
Thank the powers that be! The three screens show Formation Audibles at its finest! This first one shows the controls for Bluff mode, where you can confuse your opponent during a head-to-head game by displaying playart from the wrong play. I'm not sure what the Show My Levels feature is, but I'll sure we'll find out in the near future.
Here you see the 5 major (default) audibles and the additional four formation audibles (Quick Pass, PA Pass, Run, and Deep Pass). This is great stuff here.
Here's a screenshot of the EA Locker--another highly-requested feature! The EA Locker will allow roster (and other file?) sharing.
New twisting TD dive animation. If this were the olympics, I'd give it a 9.5! BIg air on this one! The USA diving team should recruit this guy!

Possible post-play continuation celebration? One of the features mentioned included post-play continuation. What could that be? Late hits, celebrations, taunting, I guess we'll see. Sounds good though.

Uh oh! Spectacular catch is baaaack! Just when you thought it was safe to play against a team with a WR with over 85 SPC! If you recall, D-Cas mentioned EA addressed the spectacular catch abuse in his Madden 09 blog. Let's hope this also applies to NCAA! It think Spec Catching is great, but very much abused in certain circles!
This is undoubtedly a part of the new Pre-play Confusion. I'm not a big fan of home field advantage. I'm glad the screen no longer shakes from seasons gone by because I could never imagine the QB actually saw the ground shake in real life--granted we all play the game from the QB's perspective. This appears to be another attempt to capture the confusion players can experience when playing in loud opposing stadiums. I don't think this is the best way to visualize the feeling, but I do applaud the attempt to add this to the game--home field advantage is a major part of college football.
Reason why? I believe teams practice, like they do in the NFL, with loud speakers blasting--in preparation of games in hostile territory. They also call the play in the huddle and even use hand signals I imagine (work with me here). So, having all the players confused--I doubt that really happens much--you get the play in the huddle, and you run that play. Not confusing at all--unless--the QB tries to audible--then, I can see some type of confusion happening, but not in the form of wavy lines. We'll see how heavy-handed this feature is when the game drops--stay tuned.
Most lovely! Ahhh, snow and degrading fields--gotta love it. If I were the Lucky Charms Rabbit, I'd say...It's graphically delicious LOL!!! Let's just hope we can rock weather online fellas!

The ref doing his thing--new to 09. Instead of text calls--we get to see the real thing--just like big brother Madden. What call is this by the way?
